Shipmates;
Really quickly, and no big deal, but here’s the posting format:
1. If it’s a regular post, then just put the title of the story in the email subject box. i.e. My Title, as opposed to “My Title”. This way, when it gets to the site, it’ll show the subject line in a bold header. No need for the quotes. I’m slowly going through and editing all previous posts to conform to this method. I just think it’s the cleanest, simplest looking.
2. Start your posts just like this:
wirtten by Full Name
Rank Character’s name
Right where I wrote “Shipmates” on this message would be where you’ll put “written by . . ” and no caps on written either, again, for the simple look. I heard someone ask once “Is simplicity best, or simply the easiest?” I can firmly say yes, and no. Yes, it looks the best (to me) and no, it’s not the easiest (in terms of getting this site design down) !
You should use your full name, because I like to present us as a group of writers who are proud of their works. Also, I’m going to continue to use my full name for now, so I think we should simply stay uniform. (site design again . . .) I can’t, of course, require you to use your real name, but at least use a constant full name. Be Tim Sim, if you want
3. Then, write Rank Full Name just like I do: Captain Hashar Mor. Or, Captain Mor — as long as it’s rank and name. The leeway on this is: department heads can use their departmental title, ie “Chief Medical Officer”
4. If you’re sending a message that’s not a post to the story, like this one, just add [NRPG] in the subject line and then your subject, like this email.
Okay, that’s it for now.
No, that’s not true. One more thing. You guys are doing a really great job. Two weeks ago, I was afraid that I wouldn’t have the ability to keep the sim moving forward after that recent break we had. Now though, we’re trucking right along. As I’ve always been, I’m proud to be a member of Star Trek: Missouri, and I’m looking forward to well, the next few hours in ship-time. Something’s coming. (everybody duck)
Cheers;
David
