He was born in the United States of America. At seven months old his mother took him back to South Africa where she had grown up and raised him there until he was 10 years old. He then relocated to Scotland to continue his education At 18 he moved to San-Francisco and joined Starfleet. He received the Physics prize in his first year at the Academy. He went on to be awarded with a Masters degree with honours in Physics, majoring in astro physics at Starfleet Academy.
When He turned 22 he graduated with Honours and distinction from Starfleet Academy receiving the rank of Ensign for designing a new volatile memory cache used aboard the Intrepid and Sovereign class starships today. He went on to study further during his assignments aboard the USS Harmony and Jupiter Station and completed a paper regarding the nature of black holes, their properties, and effect of creating a sub-space juncture between them, and was awarded a PhD in Astrophysics for his research. Oehley seems kleenly interested in outside research into the effects of sub-space on body chemistry.
Service Record
His first service was aboard the nebula-class U.S.S Harmony for 8 months as Assistant Chief of Science and was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade for exemplary performance. He was then stationed on Jupiter Station, researching the effects of prolonged exposure to sub-space on living tissue.
After submitting a report on those effects and finding no conclusive evidence for harm to living organisms, he was then transferred to the USS Missouri as the Chief of Science during her Shakedown. On Stardate 59359.7 He was promoted to Full Lieutenant, and was given the role of Executive Officer of the skeleton crew aboard the USS Missouri.
